Ok, so I am a terrible blogger and haven't posted every day. I've been so busy that I haven't had the time which is actually a great thing! I didn't do as well as I expected during the first week but as we say at KW, it is better to set your goals high and not reach them than to set them low and reach them every time. Well, something like that anyway. I guess I was shooting for the stars and maybe I included too many things to keep track of but I did keep track of them all! Here's how it all worked out:
Prayer Per Day for 30 Days - This one I had no problem with and met my goal of 7 for the week!
30 Minutes of Exercise Every Day for 30 Days - Well, if you read any of my previous blogs, you will know that I took a tumble off the treadmill which unfortunately injured my back and I was only able to get 4 days of exercise in due to injury. Starting to feel a little better now but I have to be very careful because I had back surgery a few years ago and still have 2 herniated discs. Can't afford to rupture those two now that I have no health insurance! I will try really hard this week to get that exercise in though!
30 Business Calls a Week - Can I count emails? I actually fell short in this category as well and got in 24 calls. If you count emails though, I went WAY over. Lead generating is lead generating right? I just wish I could get ALL leads to leave me a phone number and not just an email address...
30 Glasses of Water a Week - I did great on this count and got ALL my water in.
30 Fruits and Vegetables a Week - I did good on this one too! Now I just have to keep it up.
30 Affirmations a Week - Piece of cake! Got that one down too.
30 Hugs a Week - Ok, now this one I thought I would have in the bag but I fell short by 9 hugs this week. If you see me somewhere and I don't give you a hug, please call me on it or just hug me! It still counts no matter who starts the hugging.
30 Compliments to Other - I really need to get on this one. Either I didn't keep a good record or I am just stingy with the compliments. I always thought I was a very encouraging person. I'll try harder this week
So anyway, it's been a very busy week and the weeks ahead are going to be busy as well but I am going to stick to this. If you see me somewhere, ask me how it's going. I need to be held accountable!

Day Three
Still hanging with it! I am low on hugs though. I am going in to the office tomorrow, so be on the lookout for random hugs if you happen to be at KW in Sandy Springs! Word to the wise: Never EVER try to pick up the weight you dropped while you are walking on the treadmill until you have exited said treadmill first. I made this mistake today. Too bad someone wasn't there with a video camera. Face plant, flew off the back of the treadmill, crashed into the floor. Not fun. Large bruise on upper arm currently cooking...

Day Two
Ok, so is an avocado a fruit or a vegetable? I say it's a vegetable because it's green but I'm thinking that's probably wrong. Either way it counts toward one of my fruits and vegetables.
My exercise for today was 20 minutes on the treadmill (made it a little over a mile) and then 10 minutes of yoga.
All my other categories have been checked off for today except for the compliments to others... So who needs an ego boost? I'll be glad to build you up and never tear you down :-)
I kept my affirmation for the day the same as yesterday. "I am grateful for unknown blessings already on their way!" I left it this way in hopes that I might be blessed with finding the house next door a different color than it was yesterday... Maybe I'll switch it up tomorrow.

Day One
Day One:
So far, so good! I got quite a few hugs in this morning at our KW Stats meeting to get me going on my weekly quota and I have accomplished something in every category of my list except the 30 minutes of exercise which I am about to go do right now. I'll be sticking with yoga today because I somehow jacked my back up moving big rocks around in our pond. I think 30 minutes of yoga should help with that and also help with my state of mind. Today's affirmation was "I am grateful for unknown blessings already on their way". Not sure that my next door neighbor painting their house baby poop yellow can count as an unknown blessing. It was certainly unknown until I got home today! At least they painted it I suppose... Anyhow, the yoga should clear my mind. I am going to give you guys the sheet I am working from so that if you want to follow along, you can. I'm using a highlighter to color in the bubbles when I accomplish something. I wanted something bright and cheerful, so I'm using a pink highlighter. You can use whatever color speaks to you :-) Until tomorrow, remember: You is smart. You is kind. You is important. (from the book The Help if you didn't know). If you see me out in public somewhere, expect a hug!!!

One Day to Go
So here is the list that I intend to follow. If you want to work along with me, you can change some of them to suit your needs because I don't think that everyone needs to make 30 business calls a week but, for those of you in sales, challenge yourself to do so!
30 Days of 30 Ways to Improve My Life (and the lives of others)
1. 30 Minutes of exercise EVERY day - Now I know that doctors say you should do this anyway and prefer that you do more but who really does it? Some do but most do not. Everyone can find 30 minutes a day either in the morning, evening, or do it on your lunch hour. You don't have to run a 5K in the 30 minutes and it can be yoga, strength training, walking, running or whatever you enjoy doing. Don't make it something you hate doing or you will find a reason why you didn't do it and justify it somehow. I will be sticking mostly to yoga and the treadmill with some weights on the treadmill because I am getting older and KNOW that I need to keep my muscles strong to keep my bones strong.
2. 30 Business calls a week. I know I should probably do more but I am working with baby steps right now. Calling makes me uncomfortable and I need to get comfortable doing it, so this will be a huge step for me. If you don't normally need to call for your business, then make it 30 calls to friends and relatives who you haven't spoken to in a while. It will give you a chance to catch up and a chance to make someone's day.
3. 30 Glasses of water a week. I have fallen off the wagon on this one as of late and this will get me back on track. Drinking water is great for your skin and helps keep your systems running the way they should. Also, if you are well hydrated, you are less likely to be hungry. Not that this is a diet by any means but water is good for you. Just drink it!
4. 30 Fruits and vegetables a week. Yes, I know they say 5 a day but who really gets a chance to eat that many or tracks to see if they do? Well, now I will. Like I said, this is not a diet but if you actually eat all the fruits and vegetables that you should, then you won't be hungry for that bag of potato chips at 10 p.m. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
5. 30 Prayers/meditations a month. I have always had a problem with this and need to get in touch with my spiritual self. Most of my friends know that I am not a religious person but I am a very spiritual person. It wasn't until a few days ago when my friend Clementine posted a Lakota prayer that I finally found something that felt very powerful to me and still can't say the prayer without crying. I think if something speaks to me like that, then I should listen.
6. 30 Affirmations a week. The company I work for believes highly in the power of affirmation. I've always felt it was kind of hokey but I'm going to give it a shot. I have lots of them from my KW training and will most likely Google a few as well. I'll post them when I find really good ones. The one I will be using for now is "I am grateful for unknown blessings already on their way."
7. 30 Hugs a week. Why? Because it will make you feel good and it will also make the recipients day!
8. 30 Compliments a week. Again, this will make someone's day, so why not? If you can make someone's day, don't you think it will make your day as well? I do.
Ok, so I'm off to create a spreadsheet so I can check things off. You don't really HAVE to track it with a spreadsheet if you don't want to. Just get a little notebook and use tick marks. Hope everyone has a great day!
